Memory Foam Dog Beds Can Help Dogs Suffering With Arthritis.

Everyone knows that arthritis can be very painful and is actually a chronic joint condition which can cause major loss of the range of movements of the affected joints. There are also other symptoms such as heat coming from the joint, stiffness, muscle cramps and overall lethargy and fatigue for the unfortunate sufferer. Dogs, especially older dogs, can suffer from this just as humans do. A memory foam dog bed could really help to relieve some of the symptoms for your dog as arthritis can have an intensely damaging effect on the quality of sleep, thus seriously affecting quality of life for anyone who suffers from it, and for dogs this is greatly increased because they obviously can't explain to us exactly just how bad they are feeling.

Whenever a dog is affected by arthritis, most movements they make can cause them pain and discomfort to a greater or lesser degree. Even a fundamental thing like trying to find a comfy position in which to sleep, can turn into a bit of a nightmare. A memory foam dog bed would therefore be an excellent choice for a dog owner to purchase for their dog, as this type of dog bed could be both a preventative and a remedial item. The way they work is that this sort of bed will support and pillow the joints of the dog and thus ensure that pressure is not placed on any one part of the body, but instead is evenly distributed across the whole of the body. This could hopefully reduce the likelihood of the disease manifesting itself in the first place, or minimizing its effects for animals that are unluckily suffering from it already.

There are so many memory foam dog beds available so how can you choose the right one for your beloved pet? Well it goes without saying that it would be unwise to choose the first one you come across in your local pet shop or on the internet in the hope that it will be the most suitable one for your pet. First of all it is very important to measure your dog correctly, so when he or she is lying down with its legs fully extended, measure the full length of your dog and then add on approximately 5-7 inches to this to make perfectly sure that the memory foam dog bed you select is not too small. You really don't want to spend your money on something too small as this will obviously not fit the bill completely and supply the comfort and support for your dog that you set out to provide in the first place.

A dog bed cover can also be a very beneficial addition when buying a new memory foam dog bed, especially if your dog frequently gets dirty or sheds a lot of hair. Your dog will also sweat on occasions and possibly even urinate a little so covers for the bed should be removable, very durable and washable to stop the build up of bacteria which could in turn lead to your dog contracting an infection. Also, if your dog is a 'chewer' then you can buy a bed with a chew- resistant cover, as not only is it very costly to keep replacing beds but also it can be dangerous for your dog to ingest the materials that are used in the making of dog beds. Again a memory foam dog bed with a chew- resistant cover would be a good choice.

So to sum up, a memory foam dog bed with a removable cover and of the correct size for your dear dog, is a very sound investment to provide maximum comfort and support and you will find lots and lots of examples on the internet to help you to find just the one which will do the job. You will probably find the best price on the internet as well as there are always lots of discounts and offers to be had. 1. Very sturdy outer cover, the dog beds from crazysales may sound like it can hold it's shape well within the wash. My 50 pound dog has plenty of room over the largest size, and can enjoy the cats who snuggle with her. Cover is holding up well with the onslaught of paw weaponry it's enduring. The inner foam is not the strongest we've had. I'd really love the pet bed if it had a touch more support. Came in a massive box, this was a significant treat for cats.
